Our team of Village Games Officers work in every rural district of Derbyshire. They help local people organise regular classes, sports and activities right on the doorstep in villages across the county as well as special events to celebrate the Silver Jubilee and the Olympics.

Join Derbyshire Village Games' Hayley Lever and a panel of experts for a live online Q&A on Funding Community Action on 14th Feb (1-3pm) on the Guardian online
Recent research from the Community Development Foundation (CDF) demonstrates how "valuable" local voluntary groups are to their communities and how even small amounts of funding can have a "significant impact" on their work.
But as belts continue to tighten, many community action groups are struggling to secure vital resources, however small they may be. In this week's live Q&A, we'll consider:
• How to find appropriate fundings streams
• Innovative approaches to funding community action
• How to write effective applications
• What advice and support is available

Stewart Murdoch is the chair of the Scottish Community Development Centre (SCDC), which provides training and consultancy to support community engagement and capacity building.
Alison Seabrooke is the chief executive of the Community Development Foundation (CDF), an organisation that develops and delivers projects and programmes to help communities.
Naomi Kingsley is a board member of the Community Development Finance Association, the representative of community development finance institutions which provide loans and support to people and businesses that are benefitting their communities.
Niamh Goggin is director of Small Change, a consultancy that advises clients on social finance, social enterprise, social impact and financial exclusion.
Tom Traynor is research project manager at the Directory of Social Change (DSC), a charity that provides information and training to the voluntary sector.
Hayley Lever is the chief officer of the Community Sports Trust, a not-for-profit CIC set up to improve grassroots sport.
