"Jogging's a hit in Derbyshire Dales"

9th Oct 2011

Matlock’s Jog Derbyshire group has proved so popular that leader Catherine Haines has had to set up another session for new beginners.

Based at the £12m Derbyshire Dales development, Arc Leisure in Matlock, the new 10 week block starts on Tuesday 25th October at 6pm.  It’s aimed at people who want a gradual introduction back into physical activity with a mix of walking and jogging.  (Booking will be required as places are limited.)

Catherine currently leads the weekly Jog Derbyshire session every Tuesday evening at 7.00pm, which is suitable for improvers, so if you are looking for a friendly group of people to run with as the nights draw in. All the sessions are free, so why not meet Catherine and the rest of the group and give it a go?

Derbyshire Dales Village Games Officer Katy Stubbs said:  “It’s brilliant that Catherine’s session has proved so popular.  What’s even more impressive is that Catherine was struggling to find a jogging group so booked herself onto an England Athletics qualification course.  She qualified in August and set up a group on her own doorstep.  So as well as getting fitter, she’s become a Jog Leader and is encouraging lots of other people to get active.”

If you are interested in becoming a Jog leader or further information about Jog Derbyshire groups in Matlock call Catherine on 07919 484940 and or Katy Stubbs at Village Games Derbyshire 07909 443293.
