Jog Derbyshire are hosting the free evening at Chinley Community Centre at 8pm on Wednesday 27th February. There will also be a chance to ask Nik questions about your training and fitness.
39 year old Nik has completed numerous endurance events in some of the coldest, hottest and hilliest places on earth including the five day 150 mile desert run - the ‘Marathon des Sables’ - and the ‘Himalaya 100’ (both on bike and foot). He also set the record for the fastest finish in the 120 mile non-stop ‘6633 Arctic Ultra’ and last year became Long Distance Duathlon World Champion for his age group in Switzerland.
Nik is a regular contributor to numerous specialist magazines and websites including 220 Triathlon, Planet Fear, Outdoors Magic, Trail Running, Cycling Plus, Trek & Mountain, and is Features Editor of Ultra Fit. He also writes for Derbyshire Life.
For 8 years he managed the top London personal training studio ‘Matt Roberts’ used by celebrities including Tom Ford, Naomi Campbell, Amanda Holden and Mel C and now has a limited number of clients who he trains in person and online. He is also a judge and presenter at the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival.
His no-nonsense book - "Marathon Training, get to the start line strong and injury free" (28 weeks from non runner to marathon success)” has recently been published and he’s currently working on another book on off-road running in Derbyshire.
Living in the village of Chinley in Derbyshire’s Peak District with his wife Lissa and two dogs Nik has ‘hills on demand’ and when not writing is out training and dreaming up his next challenge.
Refreshments will be available, for a small donation. For further details or to book a seat, contact Liz Stillo by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01663 750640
