VACANCY: Generation Games Project Officer

3rd Mar 2015

Location:     Amber Valley

Salary:        £18,000-£24,000 per annum pro rata, 22 hours per week

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated person with great interpersonal skills, to join the Community Sports Trust - a Community Interest Company developing on-the-door-step physical activity opportunities.

In partnership with Amber Valley Borough Council and Derbyshire County Council, we are seeking a physical activity/sport/community development professional who is passionate about the development of physical activity and healthy communities.

The Generation Games Project Officer listens to and supports local older people (aged 50+) within targeted communities and neighbourhoods around Amber Valley. They find out what people want to do, and empower them to start new physical activity opportunities, improving the health and wellbeing of local people. They will advocate for older people in the district, sharing information with other service providers in order to create a menu of opportunities.

We are looking for someone who will relish the challenge of working with community networks in Amber Valley to develop new opportunities for older adults, and to build a community of volunteers and coaches.

The ideal candidate will understand the particular challenges of getting active later in life, have knowledge of behaviour change techniques, be able to build excellent relationships, be highly organised, and will have tonnes of motivation and enthusiasm.

If you are passionate about this work, and can demonstrate you have the necessary skills to fulfil this role, we would love to hear from you.
