Disability Sports Day back in Erewash
An inclusive sports day for people with disabilities is back by popular demand in Erewash, spearheaded by Derbyshire Village Games.
The free event is set to take place on Wednesday, June 24, at Rutland Sports Park in Ilkeston from 9.30am to 2pm. It is open to people of all ages including individuals, group members and school and college pupils.
Participants will be able to try their hand at a number of sports including Boccia, curling, tennis, wheelchair basketball, rugby, badminton, football, athletics, seated volleyball and bowls.
Toni said: “The disability sports day is always a huge success and sees so many local people coming along to join in sports and activities they didn’t know they could do or were available to them. It’s always so special to see so many happy, smiling faces and seeing people’s joy when they achieve their goals and have such a great time.”
“I am really looking forward to the event and welcoming some old and new faces to have a go at the wide range of sports on offer on the day. Everyone is welcome and I’d encourage people to get in touch with me if they want to ask any questions at all or find out more.”
